Black Brits on race and relationships

The majority of modern black Brits say it is important to them to be in a long-term relationship with someone of their own race.

In a recent poll carried out by The Voice newspaper, 57% of those surveyed said it was important to them to settle down with a partner who shares the same cultural interests.

The results came as no surprise to Dates4Us founder Leon James, who set up the UK dating website to cater for black and mixed race singles who have this very desire.

“In a society that prides itself on multiculturalism, there is a danger that some might feel uncomfortable about admitting they’d like to settle down with someone of their own race,” says James.

“Dates4Us eliminates that issue by providing a service for those who are specific in their desire to find a partner of the same race.”
